Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment
Honeybee Home Services wants everyone in Osage Beach and the surrounding Missouri communities to be able to reach us, read what we do, and request service — whatever device or assistive technology they use. We treat the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as the target standard for this website, and we work toward it as the site changes.
Measures We Take
- Pages are built from semantic HTML with real landmark regions — header, navigation, main and footer — and each page has a single, descriptive top-level heading.
- A "Skip to main content" link is the first thing in the tab order on every page and jumps straight to the main region.
- Navigation, links and buttons are native HTML elements, so they are reachable and operable with a keyboard alone, in the order they appear on the page.
- Every image on the site carries an alt attribute. Images that carry meaning are described; images that are purely decorative use an empty alt so screen readers skip them.
-
Outside the contact form, keyboard focus is
shown with a 2px amber outline offset from the
element, applied site-wide through a
:focus-visiblerule so it appears for keyboard users without adding a ring for mouse users. - Contact form fields have visible, permanently associated labels, required fields are marked in the label, validation messages are tied to their field and the submission status is announced in a live region.
- Body text, headings and link colours are set against the site's dark background at deliberately high contrast, and the layout reflows to a single column on small screens without horizontal scrolling.
- Scroll animations are disabled automatically for anyone whose system asks for reduced motion, and the content is fully readable with JavaScript turned off.
Conformance Status
This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means most of the standard is met but some parts of the site do not yet fully meet it. The site has not been audited by an independent third party, and we do not claim full conformance. The known gaps are listed below.

We aim to respond within 3 business days, and we will give you the information you were after by phone or email while we work on the underlying fix.
Technical Specifications
Accessibility of this website relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript and WAI-ARIA, and on your browser and any assistive technology supporting them. The site is statically generated and works without JavaScript; JavaScript enhances the mobile menu, scroll animations and contact form messaging only.
Limitations
We know about the following and are working on them:
- Embedded Google map. Our contact and service area pages embed a Google Maps frame. Its controls and internal markup are Google's, not ours, and we cannot correct them. The same address, phone number and service area are always given as plain text next to the map so no information is only available inside it.
- Focus indicator on form fields. Contact form inputs replace the site-wide focus outline with a soft blue glow around the field. It is lower contrast than the amber outline used everywhere else and does not match the site's focus colour, which makes the focused field harder to spot. This is on our list to change.
- Inline icons. 162 of the 425 inline SVG icons across the built site — decorative arrows, bullets and accents — do not yet carry an aria-hidden attribute, so some screen readers may announce them as unlabelled graphics. None of them is the only way to get information or complete a task.
- Third-party content generally. Content served from outside our own site, including the map above and any linked social media profile, is outside our control.
- No formal audit. The measures above were assessed by self-evaluation during development, not by an accredited third-party audit.
